Topic
Our topic at the moment is all about the sea and various different sea creatures.
We have created many different poems to do with the sea. We are creating a book all about animals.
Butterflies
The week before half term Acorn class got some caterpillars. As no one would be in school during half term the caterpillars needed to go home with someone. Miss Page was given the job of looking after them. Nothing happened to them until Wednesday.
2 caterpillars changed into chrysalis. By Friday all 9 had changed.
On Monday Miss Page brought them back and by lunchtime we had 1 butterfly!
KS1 athletics on Monday
On Monday KS1 went to Holt Primary to take part in an athletics event.
There were 10 different athletic activities such as long distance running, relay, throwing and long jump.
The next activity we went on was the ladder. The team leaders told us there were 3 different ways of doing it.
We had a go at javelin.
We ran around the field. The time we had to beat was 49 seconds.
Lily came first in an amazing time of 54 seconds. So close to beating the record holder.
Next activity was long jump.
We can jump so far.
Our last activity was to see who can jump over the cones the quickest. The record to beat on this one was 44 times in 20 seconds.
We really enjoyed our afternoon at Holt athletics. We are so excited for the next one! Well done everyone.

Art exhibition
Northrepps Primary School have been working on things to do with the sea. Both classes went to Cromer Museum and learnt about the sea. In art we have been working on creating sea creatures. Today, we are taking our artwork to Cromer Parish hall for an art exhibition. This will be on until next Wednesday (01.06.2016).
We made baskets and we had to weave them all together.
We had a circular piece of cardboard, we covered it in glue then stuck various different materials to create a sea effect. Each year group worked on their own.
We also had a hoop which we needed to add string to it. Reception tied the string on to the edge then threw it over to the other person. Eventually we ended up with a dream catcher effect. We loved doing this piece.
If you want to see more of our artwork then please come to Cromer Parish hall.
