Karate grading before half term

During the half term before Easter, Acorn class have been doing karate lessons with Shaun ESKA (Eastern Shotokan Karate Association).

Acorn class have been working hard for many weeks, learning new karate moves.

At the end of the half term it was time to take their grading. A grading shows what the children have learnt throughout the weeks.

We had to sit beautifully on the mat and wait for our names to be called  by sensei Shaun.
We were split into two groups. Each group took half an hour to do their grading.

At the end we got given our red t-shirts and certificates. We all passed and we are so pleased.

Art morning on before half term

Before the Easter holidays we had a morning of Art.
Caitlin usually comes in during the afternoon but came in first thing to help us.
We were making a piece of art for an art exhibition.

We got given silhouettes of trees and were told to put double-sided sticky tape on our piece of cloth.
The sticky tape was stuck down into a tree shape.
We then had to paint over the tape and the cloth.
When the paint was dry we could then take the tape off which will then leave us with our own version of a silhouette.

We concentrated very hard!

World Book Day!

Unfortunately due to the snow we couldn't participate in World Book Day on the actual day.

We love celebrating special days such as these so we decided to rearrange to 09.03.2018

We had lots of different characters!

Everyone loves dressing up and we really enjoyed our day!

Homework of the week starting 5th March

Some fantastic pieces of homework from Acorn class!

A snowy breakfast

A fruity Breakfast Club

At Breakfast Club Miss Page decided the children should try some exotic fruits.

We were asked what fruit we like and what fruit we would like to try.

We chose 6 different fruits. We had strawberries, kiwi, grapes (red), mango, pineapple and melon.

At first we didn't want to try any as we were sure we didn't like it. But after a little while we tried some!

It looked so yummy!

We tried it alongside our cereal.
